As children and families say goodbye to summer break and round the corner of the approaching 2015-2016 school season, they are invited to join in the back to school festivities that August brings every year. Local individuals and businesses fund this fun-filled family afternoon that provides some great free attractions, instructional exhibits on healthy eating and education, student support services, and even free school supplies.
The 13th Annual First Day Festival
The 13th Annual First Day Festival will be held Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Liberty Square at the SC Aquarium and the Charleston Maritime Center from 1:00-4:00 pm. There are a number of FUN and FREE events set to take place including:
Admission into the SC Aquarium
Tours of Ft. Sumter Museum
Boat rides
Educational exhibits
Healthy snacks
Face painting
Kids zone
Health and Wellness exhibits
School supplies
Create your own shaved ice with Kona Ice!
We will also have entertainment in Liberty Square and expect several local mascots to make an appearance!
