Want to know more about Ocean Neighbors, one of James Island's premier neighborhoods?  This wonderful family community has much to offer. Read what one seller has to say about it.

The Seller Says...

About My Home & Neighborhood

What features of the home have you really enjoyed?

We love that the rooms and bathrooms are really large with tons of closet space, and the vaulted ceilings in the living room, and the backyard patio and screened porch is great for hanging out with friends and family.

What can you tell us about your neighborhood?

Ocean Neighbors is super friendly with lots of families, plenty of kids to play with if you have children. The HOA hosts cookouts and gatherings a few times a year. And we love the it’s just 5 minutes to Folly Beach.

What do you love about your town?

James Island is hard to separate from the Holy City, just over a bridge in close proximity, but our island has Walgreen's, Walmart, numerous gas stations, restaurants, doctors and medical facilities, a post office, garden store, hardware store, Lowe's, lawn mower sales and repair, fast food hangouts, churches, several small shopping centers, and grocery stores.

Where are your favorite places to eat?

Some favorite places to eat on James Island are Mondo’s Italian, Bohemian Bull, Smokey Oak and White Elephant Thai.

Grocery stores and other conveniences?

Our neighborhood is near Harris Teeter and Publix for serious grocery shopping and smaller stores for items you might forget. There are three nearby gas stations as well.

What do you love about the area?

James Island is a central location to Charleston, Mt. Pleasant, the gardens, John's Island and Wadmalaw with its tea plantation, highways 17 and 61, and West Ashley. And Folly Beach of course!

What other things do you love/enjoy about the area?

It’s great to have the close proximity to Saint John's Marina. Lowest fuel prices! There are plenty of places to crab, fish, shrimp or boat nearby.

Anything else? Neighborhood amenities?

The little dock around the lake with sitting benches is a nice place to lounge and soak up some sun. There’s also a play park.

What are the average monthly utility costs?

SCE&G elec/gas 220+-

Charleston Water $50-60
