The Avondale area continues to grow in popularity and in what it has to offer residents and visitors. The “design district” continues to please with many bars and restaurants within walking distance for residents. If you happen to live further away, it is worth the drive! So, what’s new?

  • Recently opened Charles Towne Fermentory focuses on the fermentation process and highlights five beers on tap. Although they do not have dining yet, the Fermentory hopes to offer food options in the near future. They are open weekly Tuesday-Thursday 4-11pm, Friday-Saturday 2-11pm, and Sunday 2-10pm.

  • Opening soon is DB’s Cheesesteaks, which will be in the former Papa Murphy’s Pizza location at 2 Avondale Ave. Danny Bailey’s former Folly Road restaurant closed in 2010 after delighting customers for years. DB’s has not announced an official opening date, but they hope to be serving up their cheesesteaks, burgers, and fries early this year!

Along with these exciting new establishments, our other Avondale favorites are still going strong!
