It's already that time of year, and you may be wondering how the year flew by this fast! Y102.5 is already playing holiday music, and there is a TON already on the books around the Lowcountry. Let's be grateful for all that we are fortunate to have, enjoy the loved ones around us, and don't miss a second of making the most of this special time of year.

Check out our list of must-do sights and sounds of the season:

Movie Showings

Now - Nov 15, showings of Dr. Seuss's The Grinch (2018)  at the Regal Charles Towne Square Stadium 18 in North Charleston (pictured above). This iconic theatre facade brings a fun flair and nostalgia to movie viewing, and is fondly called "The Mall Drive movies" to many locals. Other Regal theaters in Charleston, Mount Pleasant and Summerville are also offering this fun, family film.

Fun fact: Did you know this theater used to be the 1976 site of Charles Town Square, an indoor mall which hosted JC Penney, Service Merchandise and some other department stores? It featured a "town square" style clock and children's train ride during Christmas time, and the refurbished clock is now located in the current Tanger Outlets food court. In the early 1990's these big department stores moved over to Northwoods Mall and the area began to decline. In 1997 the mall was demolished and up went the 18-screen current theater. Today, the other adjacent store sites have been transformed into an office park, which includes the North Charleston City Hall, Verizon Wireless call center, and Cowboy Brazilian Steakhouse.

December 3rd and 5th Catch Frank Capra's 1946 classic  It's A Wonderful Life at the Terrace Theatre on James Island.

Fun fact: This theater opened in 1997 with only three screens and later added a 4th. It's Charleston's premier, independently operated cinema, having changed hands a couple of times over the last 20 years by owners that have helped push quality indie films to the forefront. This local favorite hosts many amazing independent and foreign films, the Charleston Film Festival, charity events like last year's fundraiser for One80 Place, and more. They also offer a wide variety of snacks, drinks, and adult beverages!
