Looks like a beautiful weekend for a walk or a bike ride down the Greenway! Residing in Byrnes Downs, Avondale, or Windermere gives you easy access to the West Ashley Greenway. Formerly a railway, which was abandoned in 1981, the city began working to create a public pathway to add to the series of East Coast Greenways. This trail spans from Folly Road at the South Windermere Center shops all the way to Main Road in the west. The 8.8 mile paved path was completed in 2007 and serves the neighbors of the Avondale area and all of West Ashley.
