2020 was a wild year in many respects. As we move into the new year filled with hope the housing market remains strong. 2020 left us with a pandemic, an election and record low mortgage rates.

What are features of your home that you've really enjoyed?
We love spending time out at the pool with friends, as well as sitting on the front porch swing. Our kitchen is definitely the "hub" of our home where we love to entertain friends and family.
What can you tell us about your neighborhood?
Our neighborhood is extremely friendly and is filled with both young families and retirees. You always see neighbors out working in their yard, riding golf carts, walking, riding bikes and fishing in the ponds. Some of our best friends live here!
What do you love about your town?
We love Johns Island for its rural feel, yet accessibility to Downtown and Beachwalker Park (both only 20 minutes away!)
Where do you love to eat?
We love to eat at Wild Olive, Fat Hen and Sunset Bistro for breakfast. We also enjoying driving out to Kiawah and eating at Bohicket Marina after a day at the beach!
Grocery stores and other conveniences?
Our Publix is extremely convenient, just over the Limehouse Bridge, and has the best and most helpful staff! The shopping plaza also has a wonderful vet, UPS store, nail salon and a great sports bar for Sunday football! We also have two wonderful farm stores right down Main Road, the Stono Market and Blackbird Market, which both sell local produce and meats.
What other things do you love or enjoy about the area?
We also love to take our paddle boards out on the island and enjoy the Stono River.
Anything else? Neighborhood amenities?
Grimball Gates has a wonderful 2 mile long island on the Intercoastal Waterway, with a dock and picnic area. It is a wonderful area to walk, run, ride bikes, go for a golf cart ride, fish or put in your kayak.
What are your average monthly utility costs and with whom?
Berkeley Electric- ranges from $200 - 550. Our pool has the ability to be cooled and heated, which has caused our electric bill to be higher at times.
St. Johns Water Co - ranges from $30 - 95 (higher in months when we are using our irrigation system)
St Johns Propane - We use gas for our fireplace only, and only need to fill the tank every couple years
Charleston Water (Sewer) - ranges from $75 - 135
Our Homeowners Association is managed by Ravenel Associates and our annual fees are $950, which can be broken down into two bi-annual payments. This fee goes to sidewalk repairs, landscaping, gate maintenance, etc.
