Check out what the Seller says about 808 Captain Toms Crossing, the Grimball Gates premier gated community, and the neighborhood of Johns Island!
What are features of your home that you've really enjoyed?
We love the open floor plan and high ceilings! There are also many windows downstairs which make it nice and bright and a happy place to be. We have loved entertaining in this house as well!
What can you tell us about your neighborhood?
We have a very active and fun neighborhood! People are always out and about enjoying the outdoors. The 95 acre nature preserve is so much fun to walk or ride your golf cart through. There is a dock where you can watch some of the best sunsets in town.
What do you love about your town?
What's not to love about Charleston! The beaches, the restaurants, the shopping, the arts, people and much more! Johns island is just minutes to great restaurants, downtown, and beaches.
Where do you love to eat?
We love to eat downtown at The Ordinary, Edmunds Oast, SNOB. On James Island we enjoy dining at Mondo's Restaurant. On Johns Island some favorites are Wild Olive or Fat Hen.
Grocery stores and other conveniences?
Publix is only a mile away! Great restaurants are only a few miles away.
What are your average monthly utility costs and with whom?
Johns Island Water: $25
Charleston Sewer: $25
We also had an irrigation well installed last year, which allowed us to lower the water bill considerably.
Anything else? Neighborhood amenities?
Grimball Gates has a wonderful 2 mile long island on the Intercoastal Waterway, with a dock and picnic area. It is a wonderful area to walk, run, ride bikes, go for a golf cart ride, fish or put in your kayak.
Our Homeowners Association is managed by Ravenel Associates and our annual fees are $950, which can be broken down into two bi-annual payments. This fee goes to sidewalk repairs, landscaping, gate maintenance, etc.
